This event will give everyone a chance to talk to old friends and new! We will welcome our Board President, Daniel Contreras, who will lead a discussion on virtual reality videos. How cool! Food and beverages will be provided in a fun, casual space while enjoying each other’s company. We welcome young and old to attend this event and encourage you to share some topic ideas that you would like to see featured at one of our future meetings.

Understanding von Willebrand Disease

Did you know that von Willebrand disease is the most common inherited bleeding disorder? This HELLO Talk program provides an educational format to introduce the symptoms and types of von Willebrand disease, recognize potential treatment options, and learn how emotional and community support systems can help those living with this bleeding disorder.

Looking towards the future, this year we will focus our attention on the latest news hitting the shelves in the bleeding disorders community with the theme “Preparing for the Ever-Changing World of Bleeding Disorders”. We have planned a full array of programs and presentations to arm you and your family with quality information, as well as a special event for Saturday night which will give everyone the chance to reflect, remember, and celebrate the bleeding disorders community as well as commemorate World Hemophilia Day. We will be hosting some of the best educators and speakers in the state, and all breakout sessions aim to provide you with the necessary information to continue receiving top of the line treatment and care.

"Don't Be Scared, Be Prepared"

This session identifies the types of incidents that could happen in your local area and gives practical, easy to implement tips for being ready for anything. We will meet at Aurelio’s Pizza at 11:30am then head next door for an hour of laser tag starting at 1pm!

Blood Sisterhood: Hitting a Home Run at Your Clinic Visit

This session presents tried and true tips to maximize your comprehensive clinic visit. We will meet at 5:45pm in Suite 221 at Guaranteed Rate Field. After the presentation, we will enjoy food and drinks while watching the Chicago White Sox take on the Cleveland Indians from our box office seats above 1st base!

The group is open to any women 18+ that is in our bleeding disorders community. Space is limited for this event so RSVP today!
