Cazandra Campos-MacDonald is an author, nationally recognized speaker, columnist, advocate and encourager. She is not living the life she expected. Thinking she would retire from her profession of being a middle school band director, she has worked in the healthcare industry as an advocate for people with bleeding disorders and is currently a graduate student at Iliff School of Theology, working towards ordination in the United Methodist Church. Cazandra has been married to the Rev. Dr. Joe MacDonald for 27 years and currently lives in Farwell, Texas. Her sons, Julian (23) and Caeleb (14) are the joys of her life…and she makes some mean Spanish rice. Cazandra’s TEDxABQ talk, “A Prisoner of Hope,” is the first TEDx talk given about hemophilia and inhibitors. She is a columnist for Hemophilia News Today and the Parent Empowerment Newsletter (PEN). She has been featured on Scary Mommy, The Mighty, Global Genes Rare Daily, and the Hemophilia Federation of America’s “Infusing Love” blog. She writes boldly and passionately about living life raising two sons with hemophilia as well as her struggles with anxiety and depression.
